PORTUGUESE CUISINE – NURAY’s cook club I/VI – 26 September 2019

After a long and sunny summer holiday, the first workshop of  new season with Nuray’s cook club… Our choose was Portuguese cuisine.

Portuguese cuisine has many  Mediterranean & Moors  influences, wide variety of spices, famous for seafood – salted codfish – and meats – hearty stews -.

 

We start with broa and caldo verde soup … Broa is one of the most delicious kinds of Portuguese corn bread. Caldo Verde is a  soup with kale & chorizo sausage.

Pasteis de bacalhau – salt cod & potato fritters –  and  Lulas recheadas – stuffed squid with tomato sauce  –

The pasteis de Nata !!!!! the famous custard tart was our last recipe…They are eaten for breakfast or as a snack or a desser…. All day long
